The Princeton Review: Suture Clinic

Penn Pre-Health Conference
Date: November 9th, 8:30-9:30pm
The Penn Pre-Health Conference (PPHC) will be a first-of-its-kind in person conference that brings together members of the Penn community for resources, networking, and learning related to the pre-health journey at Penn. The conference will include Q&A panels of Penn undergraduate students, as well as programming of guest speakers who are practicing Penn health professionals (i.e., physicians, surgeons, etc.), including guest talks and Q&A panels. PPHC will be hosted by the Penn Pre-Medical Association, in collaboration with MEDLIFE, Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), Period@Penn, GlobeMed@Penn, Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), and Empower through Health (ETH).

Physician Shadowing Program
Applications Open: March 2022
Applications for our Physician Shadowing Program will open in March. This program will grant students the opportunity to shadow a physician, and observe a typical day in their lives. Priority will be given to members with consistent attendance to our events, seniority, special circumstances, and good standing.

COVID-19 Vaccine Workshop

PPMA is excited to announce another collaboration with the El Paso Health Education and Awareness Team (EP-HEAT) and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. We will be jointly hosting a COVID-19 Vaccine Workshop that gives a scientific overview, answers common questions, and dispels myths about the vaccine.

Cracking Med School Admission Talk

PPMA will be hosting a virtual talk with Dr. Rachel Rizal, co-author and adviser of Cracking Med School Admissions: Advice from Doctors Who've Been There. She is also a writer for U.S. News' Medical School Admissions Playbook. She'll discuss tips as a premed student and how to stand out on your medical school applications. PPMA Virtual Physician Shadowing Session #1 with Dr. Gavrin

Come join PPMA at the first session of our Virtual Shadowing Program! Dr. Jonathan Gavrin is a clinical professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Penn Medicine. He will be sharing his unconventional path to medicine, as well as his journey through the medical field over the past 43 years. Dr. Gavrin has experience in various specialties including internal medicine, anesthesiology, pain management, and hospice and palliative medicine.
